It is not just a question of what. It is a question of how. And why.
All of Fontini’s pieces are conceived in a conscious act, from a deep respect for materials, time, and the hands that shape them. But they are also conceived from a curious, restless, contemporary outlook – one continually seeking out new ways of reinterpreting the legacy of iconic designs.
While our artisanal know-how has a technical component, it is also intuitive. It draws on tradition, but it is not confined to the past. It is based on expertise, but also exploration. We explore and play with textures, shapes and contrasts, because we understand that being functional does not preclude being emotional. And beauty lies not in perfection, but in the intent behind creation. This is why Fontini is a tribute to craftsmen, because, for us, craftsmanship is not just a process. It is an attitude, a way of life. It is a commitment to a job well done, to objects that endure, and to creations that leave a mark.
Expert hands that leave their mark.
The artisanal process is not a question of style. It is a philosophy.
At Fontini, every piece undergoes different stages where human hands intervene, adjust, observe and decide.
Nothing is identical. Everything has a subtle variation.
The subtleties that evade our first glance are precisely what make our pieces special: those slight imperfections revealing the presence of a person behind the scenes.
Here, craftsmanship is not a finishing touch. It is the overriding principle.
From Barcelona, with precision, expertise and vision.
Fontini manufactures and assembles the components of its collections in its porcelain production centre in Santa Perpètua de Mogoda.
There, tradition and innovation are embodied in the expert hands of its craftsmen, employing local, responsible and sustainable processes. Only that way, through the local manufacture of electrical fixtures and working in close partnership, can it control every stage, devote the necessary time, and cultivate a way of doing things born of a commitment to the environment and a job well done.
All materials have something to say.
Fontini lets them speak.
At Fontini, materials are more than a technical resource. They are part of the message: they impart honesty, durability and identity.
We work with porcelain, wood and brass because it believes in their ability to excite, tell stories and leave a mark.
In addition to what you see, it is about what you feel, what endures.
Porcelain.
Our most delicate
essence
Natural. Unrepeatable. Powerful.
Porcelain forms the soul of many of Fontini’s pieces. Its variations in texture, shape and colour reveal a meticulous process steeped in expertise and fire, and expert hands familiar with its language. Porcelain also offers a form of exploration: of techniques, process and aesthetic possibilities. It evokes rituals, value and endurance. And that makes it more than a material: it is a silent mark of our know-how.
Wood.
Balancing
warmth
Discreet, precise and essential.
Wood coexists unobtrusively. We work it in the traditional way, with an understanding of its nature and behaviour, and with respect for its natural ageing process. It brings balance and depth – an embracing presence that adds an organic touch. It is a material that can both elevate a piece and form part of its soul.
Brass.
Structural
elegance
Solid, noble and precise.
Brass brings shape, structure and continuity. Every plate is cut, polished and finished semi-manually, allowing its character to shine through. It brings light, form and a quiet presence – the perfect balance between technology and craftsmanship.
